Planning your 2017 wellness program

As 2016 comes to a close it’s time to reflect on the progress you’ve made, look ahead to 2017, and make plans for the new year.

Begin by reviewing your HQ Management Report, your needs and interest survey or other assessment results, and refining your long-term goals. You’ll be on your way to designing a program that best meets the needs of your employees.

HQ management reports

Identifying modifiable risks from your Management Report can help you plan your 2017 wellness program. The 2016 AWC Trust statewide report has identified BMI/Weight, nutrition, prevention and stress as the top modifiable risks among Trust members statewide. Employees who are not current with their preventive care are at risk for prevention. By planning activities and creating experiences that target risk factors, you can increase the health and vitality of your workforce.

If you have 50 or more HQ completions, you can receive a Management Report for your population. Review your HQ management report with your committee, and brainstorm activities for each risk factor. Review your long-term goals, and select activities that will target risks and help your city attain your long-term wellness goals.

2016 Management Reports are available for all current WellCities. Reports can be found in eWellCity, under the WellCity Award menu, and the Documentation tab. Cohort reports are available to cities that had the same cohort of 50 employees complete the HQ in both 2015 and 2016. Cohort reports identify changes in risks year to year and are a good way to measure the impact of your program.
