Transportation Commission Releases Draft Plan for Public Comment

The Washington Transportation Commission has released the Draft Washington Transportation Plan 2035 (WTP 2035). WTP 2035 is a high-level policy plan providing guidance and long-term strategies for all transportation modes across the state. It is the product of close collaboration and input from the Washington State Department of Transportation, Regional Transportation Planning Organizations, a diverse Advisory Group of key stakeholders, and other partners from around the state. WTP 2035 encompasses the 2015 – 2035 planning horizon, a period in which significant change is expected in the state’s growth, economy, mobility, and infrastructure needs.

The Transportation Commission plans to take public comment in August and September, consider that input and revise as needed, and adopt the final version of WTP 2035 in December 2014. The plan addresses the status and needs of state, county and city transportation infrastructure and services. The draft plan, supporting documents, and additional information is available here.
