The future of medical-marijuana is hazy

In the last hours of the legislative session, so many changes were proposed for the marijuana bill 3ESSB 5887 that no one could agree on a final version. The bill started as a measure seeking to reconcile medical and recreational marijuana markets and give a share of the tax revenue to local governments.

recent article focuses on lawmakers’ inaction to reconcile the two marijuana markets in Washington. Now, some believe the federal government will turn its attention to the unregulated medical marijuana industry. U.S. Attorney Jenny Durkan reminded us that all medical-marijuana dispensaries in the state are illegal and subject to federal action.
