Patrick Rushing, Mayor of Airway Heights, resigns from AWC Board of Directors

Patrick Rushing, Mayor of Airway Heights, submitted his resignation from the AWC Board of Directors on August 10, 2015. Since 2014, Mr. Rushing had served as the District 1 Director, representing 37 cities and towns in six counties in northeast Washington.

The AWC Board of Directors is comprised of 25 members, representing districts and at-large positions elected by the AWC membership. The process to fill the board position vacancy will be initiated soon and it is anticipated the vacancy will be filled by early October.

The AWC is a private, non-profit, non-partisan corporation that represents Washington's 281 cities and towns before the state legislature, the state executive branch, and with regulatory agencies. The AWC also provides training, technical assistance, and programs such as employee benefits, municipal liability and property insurance, employee drug and alcohol testing pooling, and workers’ comp retro pooling.
