Recognizing excellence in worksite wellness!

The Golden Apple Award is presented annually at the Healthy Worksite Summit to recognize an outstanding worksite health promotion program. All worksites in Washington are eligible to apply. Applications for the 2010 award are due September 1, 2010.

American Heart Association Start! Fit-Friendly Companies

The American Heart Association is recognizing employers who champion the health of their employees and work to create a culture of physical activity in the workplace. Companies may earn recognition by implementing physical activity, nutrition and workplace culture practices such as:

Providing walking routes
Promoting walking programs, online newsletters and tracking tools to motivate employees
Allowing staff to wear athletic shoes in the workplace on designated "sneaker days"
Providing healthy foods at meetings
Offering health risk assessments

Application deadliness are July 31 and January 31 of each year.
