AWC Affiliate Membership Program

AWC’s affiliate membership program offers counties and special districts access to the personnel and labor relations training and publications that AWC provides to cities.

Training

AWC sponsors several excellent training programs tailored to meet the needs of local government officials, such as the annual Labor Relations Institute and workshops on developing personnel policies, understanding overtime requirements, and complying with the Open Public Meetings law. While all public officials can attend most AWC workshops, affiliate members save between $40 and $60 per registration over non-member rates.

Publications

Affiliate members receive a free copy of the annual AWC City and County Salary and Benefit Survey, and can purchase the Police/Fire Compensation Survey at the member rate. Affiliate members also receive AWC's weekly Legislative Bulletin during the legislative session and other communications regarding human resources and labor relations issues, and can purchase additional AWC publications at member rates.

Online resources

Our on-line service for members only contains a searchable database of interest arbitration decisions and police and fire labor contracts, along with access to the electronic versions of the Salary Survey and Police/Fire Survey. You’ll also find up-to-date information on the CPI, pension rates, and emerging issues on the site, along with a training calendar and frequent legislative updates.

Any county and special taxing district can become an AWC affiliate member by completing a membership form (pdf, 60 kb) and sending payment.
