Enter the 2008 Municipal Achievement Awards.
The Excellence Awards recognizes innovative municipal projects that significantly improve the quality of life for citizens, establish partnerships, and build community support.
The competition is open to any Washington city or town. Categories are by subject and will have one winner in each category.
The Categories Are:
- Diversity
- Community Service
- Economic Development
- Hometown Spirit
- Public Safety
- Public Works
- Small City Successes
Award category descriptions
Consider entering any project or program that benefited your community or municipal employees within the past two years. Each city may submit up to two total entries, however only one entry per category.
Entry must be postmarked by April 18.
Show-Off Your City!
In order to have your project judged, the following must be submitted at time of entry:
- Application form:
PDF version,
Word version
- Project statement (approximately 50 word explanation of project)
- Project summary
- Electronic version of statement and summary emailed to Kate Roewe (kater@awcnet.org) by the deadline
- Three pictures depicting the project (can be emailed with the statement and summary)
- Mayor’s signature on application form—indicates commitment to attend AWC’s Municipal Recognition
Breakfast during the Annual Conference should your municipality win an award
- Any supplemental documentation—materials will be kept at AWC to serve as reference and will only be returned upon request

We want to remind you of all the great city projects that
have been entered over the years. Please use this as a
resource for ideas and examples of projects that should be
entered.
Note: Projects prior to 2007 were judged based on
population and not subject category.
