Opening Reception - Yakima Valley Museum

6 – 8 pm

Tuesday’s reception features the best of Yakima’s history, culture and food. Enjoy a variety of cuisines from local restaurants and wineries. Explore the museum/’s historical exhibits focusing on the Valley’s history, it’s agricultural roots, American Indian culture and early city life. Wander the rolling lawns of Franklin Park and visit an operating 1930's art deco soda fountain. Linger and enjoy the sounds of some great local jazz.

Governor's Lunch/Parade of Flags

11:45 am – 2 pm

Governor Chris Gregoire will address conference delegates.

A Night Out on Front Street

6 – 9 pm

The Old North Yakima National Historic District remains much as it was when it was first built in the late 1880's. Maybe a bit better, now that it underwent the largest historical renovation west of New Orleans. Spend an evening on Front Street, tasting the best of the block’s restaurants, and listening to one of Yakima’s most popular bands under the the glow of antique street lights.

Thursday, June 19

Municipal Excellence Breakfast

7:30 – 9 am

A special salute to winners of AWC's Municipal Excellence Awards, WellCity Awards, and Civic Service Awards.

Celebration Lunch

12:15 – 1:15 pm

A special look at Washington's cities and towns by an iconic Northwest performer, John Keister, host of Seattle television's Almost Live during its phenomenal 15-year run on KING-TV.

Exhibit Reception

5 – 8 pm

Time for one-on-one consultations with service providers, consultants and state agencies.

Exhibit opens Thursday afternoon and runs through Friday morning, with a reception Thursday evening and breakfast Friday morning.

President’s Anniversary Celebration at the Seasons

9 – 11 pm

The Performance Hall is an acoustical dream. Newly renovated, the former church was built using 17th century Italian architectural features. Its stained glass windows and high arching ceiling provide the perfect ambiance for music.

Celebrate AWC’s 75th anniversary with a special performance and a reunion for Washington’s mayors and councilmembers, past and present!
