The Conference Experience

As always, the most important part is the networking and hearing what others have problems with and what they are doing that is new or different.
~ Lewis Griffin, Former Councilmember – Liberty Lake

It was a good experience. I'm a new councilmember, so I learned a lot.
~ David Futcher, Councilmember – Kelso

This was my first time to attend an AWC conference and I was impressed by the quality of the attendees and the exhibits.
~ R.W. Rickett, Mayor – Oakesdale

The dialogue and experiences with other city representatives and message from the governor.
~ David Leach, Mayor – Granger

I enjoyed the whole experience. This is my fourth conference and I enjoyed meeting with other councilmembers and mayors and discussing common problems and solutions.
~ Marion Smith, Councilmember – Steilacoom

I have attended every conference since 1979. Every year I learn new things!
~ Kathy Jones, Clerk-Treasurer – Oroville

AWC staff as always, put together a great conference! The banquet on Thursday was a great venue. Great idea!
~ Toni Nelson, Small Cities Specialist – Office of the State Auditor

It doesn’t get better than this

Meeting friends I see only at AWC events means not just renewing social ties but networking to share ideas & solutions. ~ Pam Carter, AWC President

I enjoyed a lot of things during the conference. Needless to say, the Taste of Tri-Cities was a wonderful event, and what a great place to have it. I enjoyed the sessions specifically on the duties and responsibilities of councilmembers and types of government.
~ Ruth Ross, Councilmember – Lynnwood

The variety of workshops and the networking opportunities.
~ Connie Lord, Councilmember – Poulsbo

Talking with the vendors, that was a plus.
~ Mark Hamilton, Councilmember – Bonney Lake

The tours were excellent.
~ Sue Karahalios, Councilmember – Oak Harbor

The Tuesday night reception and the Thursday night Columbia River dinner. The wine was most excellent all the way around!
~ Geoffery Thomas, Councilmember – Monroe

Getting down to business

The workshops were fantastic. Having several workshops with different topics running at the same time gives us options. This makes the conference even more enjoyable.
~ Terry Ryan, Mayor Pro Tem – Mill Creek

I was able to enjoy each session and glean important information for my town. I sometimes wish I could attend each workshop that is available.
~ Fran Bolt, Mayor – Marcus

The best part was networking with my colleague's (old and new) and workshops I attended.
~ Dee Cragun, Councilmember – Deer Park

The economic development tracks were great - can never get enough examples to learn from.
~ Bob Gregory, City Manager – Longview
