AWC’s Certificate of Municipal Leadership (CML) program recognizes mayors and councilmembers for accomplishing training in four core areas. Our trainings provide city elected officials with the knowledge they need to effectively operate within the law, plan for the future, secure and manage funds, and foster community and staff relationships.
You earn credits by attending an AWC workshop or conference that offers CML credits, and are then automatically enrolled. AWC tracks your credits, and you can check your progress online.
Earn 30 credits and attend at least one workshop in four core areas.
Continue to strive for excellence by attending conferences and trainings, serving the community, and further developing your leadership skills.
Curious about how many credits you have? Check your credits online.
When core or advanced certificate requirements are met, you will receive your certificate and are recognized in AWC’s electronic newsletter CityVoice and at our annual conference.
You can also request a CML or Advanced CML logo for use on your business cards.
For more information, contact Karen Tanner.
