AWC Workers' Comp Retro Program

Safety Academy

Are you responsible for your jurisdiction’s safety program? Have you experienced an increase in on-the-job injuries? Interested in learning more about ways to keep your workplace safe? If so, AWC’s Retro Program is offering three full-day workshops to help you navigate workplace safety issues.

Each workshop offers four different safety classes – and if you’re able to attend all three days, you’ll satisfy the requirements to earn your Safety Coordinator certification (AWC Retro jurisdictions only).

Who should attend

  • Members of the AWC Workers’ Compensation Retro Program
  • City staff responsible for risk management/ loss control/safety
  • Safety committee members
  • Human resource, public works employees and supervisors, building inspectors and other field employees

Presenter

Emily Molitor, Sr. Risk Control Consultant, Sedgwick CMS
Emily has more than 15 years of experience in safety and risk control, and is the primary trainer for AWC’s Retro Program. Her specialties include ergonomics, program development, and training & education. Emily has a Bachelor of Science degree in Loss Control Management from Central Washington University and is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).

Other AWC members registration – $90
Non-AWC members registration – $125

Cancellation policy:
AWC Workers’ Comp Retro Program members: A $25 cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations made less than one week prior to each workshop.

Other AWC members or non-members: A $25 cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations made more than one week prior to each workshop. Full payment is required for cancellations made less than seven days prior to the workshop.

Certified Safety Coordinator (CSC) Program

Available to Retro program members only

AWC’s Retro Program, in partnership with Sedgwick CMS, sponsors the Certified Safety Coordinator program to recognize educational achievement and professional excellence in workplace safety. This program requires students to take seven core courses and five electives. By attending these workshops, students will earn credits toward becoming a Certified Safety Coordinator.
