Learn about land use decision making from comprehensive plan adoption through the issuance of development permits and appeals. Topics not addressed in standard codes will be covered, such as how to handle the open record hearing, appearance of fairness doctrine, the vested rights doctrine and how to write legally sufficient findings and conclusions.

This training is for clerks, mayors, councilmembers, public works staff, community development and planning staff, land use hearings commissions/boards staff.

Agenda

Friday Harbor – Sign in and on-site registration begins at 5 pm. Training begins at 5:30 pm and ends at 7:30 pm.

Granger – Sign in and on-site registration begins at 6:30 pm. Training begins at 7 pm and ends at 9 pm.

Other registration – $95 per person

A fee of $25 will be charged for cancellations made more than one week prior to the meeting for which you are registered. Cancellations made less than seven days prior to the meeting for which you are registered will require full payment.
