AWC Statewide Candidate Forum

Co-sponsored by the Sound Cities Association

September 13 – Renton
Renton Pavilion Event Center
233 Burnett Ave. S
Renton, WA 98057

The Association of Washington Cities in partnership with the Sound Cities Association will co-host a forum for city elected officials and staff to hear from candidates for select statewide offices. The top two candidates for the office of Governor, Lieutenant Governor and State Auditor will speak at AWC’s Candidate Forum.

The forum goals are to:

  • Understand the perspectives on how each candidate views the city/state partnership.
  • Hear how city issues fit within each candidate’s statewide goals.
  • Ask questions about issues specific to city interests.

This forum is not a debate. Each candidate individually addresses city officials, with a message focused on city issues. Q&A follows each candidate’s remarks. During the forum, candidates and attendees get a preview of AWC’s potential legislative priorities for the 2017 session – a good opportunity to hear how city and statewide issues connect.
