Washington City and County Salary and Benefit Survey

2011 Salary & benefit data now available online

As you head into negotiations with your employees for 2012 salaries and benefits, be armed with the most current salary, benefit, and contract information available. Management officials can now access the results of AWC’s 2011 Washington City and County Salary & Benefit Survey online.

The salary survey contains extensive information about the salaries and benefits provided to employees in Washington's cities and counties. The online reporting tool allows you to create and print custom reports with data from only the jurisdictions you choose. HR directors, city managers/administrators, mayors and a number of other local government officials already have access to the system. Go to the "Members Only" section of AWC's website to log in.

Because this online tool is intended for those who represent management only, specific authorization is needed from AWC staff to gain access to the system. Management representatives in cities, counties, and AWC affiliate member jurisdictions who don’t already have access can contact Marnie McGrath, 360-753-4137 or marniem@awcnet.org to obtain login information.

Non-members, including unions, can purchase a 500+ page printed version of the survey results for $175.

New service – police and fire data portal

AWC is pleased to announce a partnership with eCityGov Alliance to gather police and fire compensation and benefit data utilizing their HR Compensation and Classification Portal. The HR Compensation and Classification Portal is a web-based tool that allows users to quickly and easily upload and view data and information. Users can also search, review and print the raw data of other comparable public agencies to conduct compensation analysis that meets their specific needs.

As part of this partnership, AWC will be providing one year of FREE access to the HR Compensation and Classification Portal for a limited number of cities, counties and fire districts to upload and access data beginning July 1, 2011 and continuing through June 30, 2012. At this time, the project is limited to cities above 5,000 in population, counties above 10,000 in population, and larger fire districts with union employees. We believe this will be an invaluable tool to help you prepare for negotiations (and potential interest arbitration) with your police and fire unions. See the Project brochure or contact Project Manager Kim Dowden for more information.
