April is nonprofit impact month

The state association for nonprofits (Washington Nonprofits) runs a social media campaign every April to honor nonprofits’ service to our communities. As part of the campaign, Washington Nonprofits has compiled a set of twitter-sized “impact stories” from participating nonprofits and has published them here. Show your support for nonprofits by participating in this campaign and highlighting the important partnership between local government and nonprofits.

3 ways you can honor nonprofits in your area

  • Click on the link above and navigate to your region (Eastern WA, Western WA, King Co.) and scroll through the stories;
  • Pick one you like and share it on social media. There are a couple ways you do this:
    1. If you have a twitter account, click on the “share” button on the banner just above the Washington Nonprofit logo. Enter your favorite story or a personal message and send. Make sure you include the hashtag #nonprofitimpact2016!
    2. If you don’t have a twitter account, click on the same “share” button and choose between Facebook, Linked In, Google+, or email.
  • “Like” the stories by clicking on the heart shape within any of the links.

When using social media, you can also send a general statement such as: “Thanks to all nonprofits serving in _________ (city/county).” You can also visit the media packet (use same link above) for more tweet ideas. Sending out a tweet every day during the month of April is a great way to honor the incredible diversity of our state’s nonprofits.
