Temporary change to Standard 8.4

In light of recent challenges with the Health Central point system, the Board of Trustees has approved a change to WellCity Standard 8.4 for the 2018 WellCity Award. Standard 8.4 currently requires that 50% of employees and spouses earn the $35 Wellness Reward.  The Board adopted change is for the 2017 program, which meets the requirement for the 2018 WellCity Award.

The 2018 WellCity Standard 8.4 requires members demonstrate employee engagement by achieving one of the following:

  • 50% of employees and spouses registered for a Health Central account in 2017;
  • 50% of employees and spouses completed HQ in 2015 & 2016, thereby meeting WellCity Standard 8.4 in the previous two years; or
  • Demonstrate employee engagement in 2017 by another measure as agreed upon by Member Employer and AWC Staff.


In light of the special rules being applied to meeting Standard 8.4 in 2017 for the 2018 WellCity Award, here are a few tips for verifying you’ve met one of the requirements.

  • Your eWellCity account will automatically award 2 points for Standard 8.4 once one of the three criteria for meeting Standard 8.4 has been achieved.
  • Check the Award Detail Report and look for 2 points and a green checkmark for Standard 8.4.
  • The feedback tab in the WellCity Award menu will specify which of the three criteria you have met.
  • If you have not achieved 50% Health Central registration, and did not have 50% HQ completion in 2015 and 2016, you can still submit an example of another wellness engagement measure you feel is comparable for meeting the standard. Submit a description of the other wellness engagement measure to Julie McDowell prior to the Feburary 1, 2018 WellCity Award application deadline.

Statewide, we continue to see a steady climb in Health Central registration rates. Over 25% of the eligible population is now enrolled. Way to go!
