Device Connection Center and Fitbit

Tracking your health numbers just got easier. WebMD Health Services has partnered with Fitbit* to offer you exciting new Challenges, Rewards, and trackers. (You can purchase a Fitbit at BestBuy or other local stores for about $100.) Now, you can store all of your wellness activity in one place, and access everything from Health Central.

How does it work? Take a look:

  • Run, walk, sleep, eat – as you go about your day, your Fitbit is automatically tracking your activities, including exercise, diet, and calories burned.
  • Your data is automatically uploaded into your Personal Health Record.
  • Soon, you’ll find new rewards and challenges based on your Fitbit activity.
  • Gain insights from your health coach.
  • Remember, all of your information is completely confidential and will never be shared with your employer.

Consider it a one-stop shop for your wellness activity, and reap the rewards for keeping up the good work. We have a feeling this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Visit awctrust.org to get started.

Interested to see how a Fitbit works?

Check out how Andy Clarke, our Field Service Representative uses his Fitbit.

The blue band on his wrist is his Fitbit. The Fitbit app displays his dashboard that monitors his progress and awards him badges, and lifetime mile awards.

Andy has been using his Fitbit for 9 months. He has logged 3 million steps, which earned him the Great Barrier Reef Award. 3 million steps is equivalent to 1,600 miles or equal to walking across the Great Barrier Reef. There are about 2,000 steps in a mile, and his daily Personal Record is 25,000 steps.

The Fitbit wearable device offers Andy motivation at the end of the day. He has a daily goal of 6 miles, and if he is short of meeting his goal when he checks his dashboard, he takes an evening walk.

When you see Andy at the next AWC event you attend, give him a high five for being an inspiration to others while he meets his fitness and weight management goals.
