Water and sewer latecomer fee authority passes Senate

In a 38-10 vote the Senate passed SSB 5795 sponsored by Sen. Roach (R-Auburn) and promoted by AWC that provides cities the authority to independently undertake water and sewer investments and be the sole beneficiary of latecomer repayments.

Preemption of certain restriction on mobile or manufactured home parks

SB 5869 from Senator Sheldon D-Potlatch) prohibits cities from restricting the location of a manufactured/mobile home based on current fire/safety reasons if the community met the life/safety standards in place at the time it was originally permitted.

HB 2086 proposes several new limitations on city authority over these issues, including preempting certain time limitations, number of simultaneous religious organizations hosting encampments, and parking related issues.

Bill would exempt certain WSDOT projects from local shoreline permitting

HB 1850 exempts a wide range of WSDOT projects from local shoreline permitting if the project occurs within the right-of-way of state highway facilities or a ferry terminal.
