New property owner approval or vote requirements for annexations

HB 1854 would require a public vote approved by 60 percent of the voters or approval of property owners of at least 70 percent of the assessed value of the area to be annexed for all or the most commonly used methods of annexation.

Boeing deal includes funding for planned actions

One element of the “Boeing deal” that has not gotten as much attention as others is the provision of $2 million dollars to the Department of Commerce for grants to cities or counties for paying the cost of upfront environmental review in and around current and future large manufacturing sites for aerospace.
