Legislation to restore city liquor revenue introduced

HB 1368 is designed to restore local government liquor revenue that was redirected to the state general fund at the end of last session. The bill makes two significant changes to city and county liquor revenues. First, it reinstates the $10 million in liquor taxes that was permanently redirected to the state in 2012. Second, it removes the cap on the amount of liquor profits that local governments receive, allowing this important city revenue source to grow as it historically has.

Restoring local liquor revenue is one of AWC’s top priorities this session, and we will provide updates on this bill as session continues.
