Authorizing cities to set reduced speed limits

HB 1045 would allow cities and towns to establish a maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour on a non-arterial highway, or part of a non-arterial highway that is within a residence district or business district, without having to conduct a traffic or engineering study.

The bill is currently scheduled for public hearing in the House Transportation Committee at 3:30pm on January 22.
