Urge your legislators to join the Local Government Champions Caucus

There is an exciting movement taking place in the legislature this year. A Local Government Champions Caucus has formed in the House and Senate to focus on local government issues and common-ground solutions to help cities and counties thrive.

Some city officials have already reached out to their legislators and have encouraged them to join the caucus. We need you to do the same. Share your city’s priorities and what is important to your community. AWC’s success this session will be measured by the progress we achieve on the issues these champions promote. Having them on our side, and in the lead, only works with support and encouragement from home!

Take action:

  • If you haven’t already, contact your own legislators in the next few days.
  • Share that there’s this quite amazing bipartisan thing happening at the capitol.
  • If they’re a part of the new Local Government Champions Caucus, thank and encourage them to support cities!
  • If they’re not, encourage them to become part of it by contacting caucus leads: Representatives Chris Reykdal (D-Tumwater) and Cary Condotta (R-East Wenatchee), and Senators Ann Rivers (R-La Center) and Mark Mullet (D-Issaquah).
