Liquor Control Board publishes a tentative timeline for I-502 implementation

The Washington State Liquor Control Board (LCB) has issued a tentative timeline for I-502 implementation. The timeline identifies the rulemaking and public hearings that will establish the process for licensing producers, growers, and retailers. It also indicates when they expect to begin issuing licenses to these groups. Again, this is tentative, but it outlines the approach the LCB is taking to ensure they meet the December 1, 2013, deadline set out in I-502.

According to the timeline, the public will have the opportunity to comment on the various stages of rulemaking. LCB plans to have rules adopted for the Producer License by early June. This leads to the similar format for licensing Processor and Retailer licenses, planned to be finished by early August.

Also, don’t forget the I-502 forums hosted by the LCB that are taking place around Washington in January and February.
