Briefing from EPA on the "Waters of the United States" Rulemaking

The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Local Government Advisory Committee meeting on Protecting America’s Waters, will be held next Wednesday August 13 in Tacoma. The purpose of the meeting is to hear local perspectives on the proposed Waters of the United States (WOTUS) proposed rule. Gina McCarthy, EPA Administrator will be present at the meeting which is scheduled from 9 am – 12:30 pm at 747 Market Street in Tacoma. Please RSVP to Frances Eargle at (202) 564-3115 or email. This will be a good opportunity to hear the intent of this effort as well as some of the potential implications for cities. Here is the draft agenda and additional meeting information.

AWC is still formulating our position on this rulemaking, and would like feedback from cities. Please provide your comments to Carl Schroeder.
