Marijuana license lottery process encounters hurdles

Last week, the Liquor Control Board (LCB) began the lottery for licensing retail marijuana businesses. The LCB plans to post the ordered list of qualified applicants on Friday, May 2.

Some hurdles arose last week that may impact the process. One potential business owner and his attorney got involved because shortly before the lottery, the business was disqualified for a typo in his application. Read the story here.

A judge in Cowlitz County halted the lottery in Longview because a local potential store owner was also removed from the lottery for similar reasons. This order only impacts the Longview lottery, not statewide. Find this story here.
