Legislation to restore local liquor profits growth filed

This week, the House version of AWC’s priority bill to restore growth in city and county liquor revenue, HB 2314, was filed. As we summarized in last week’s Bulletin, the bill incrementally increases the percentage of profits distributed to locals until the historic 50/50 split is reinstated in July, 2021. While many legislators have expressed support for the bill, the state continues to grapple with its own budget problems, and legislators need to continue hearing about the importance of liquor revenue to cities. Even if you have already done so, please contact your Representatives and ask for their support. More information about the proposal is summarized in this new AWC fact sheet.
