The Office of Public Defense is seeking municipal and district court attorneys for misdemeanor caseload feedback

As you know, the Washington Supreme Court delayed the implementation date for the adopted misdemeanant caseload limits for public defenders until January 1, 2015. In a previous article we discussed the adopted standards and how the Office of Public Defense (OPD) would conduct an evaluation and gather data on various caseloads across the state.

Now OPD is seeking assistance from attorneys practicing in municipal and district courts to help in one of two ways:

  1. Using a web-based application provided by OPD to track the time you pend on misdemeanor cases or,
  2. Share existing non-confidential time records to show the time you spend representing misdemeanor clients.

For further details, please read this announcement. To participate, please complete and submit this short application form by June 17, 2013.
