Personnel bills on House floor

Two personnel-related bills are currently on House floor, which means they could be voted on and passed out of the House at any time:

  • HB 1440 addresses wage issues and the procedure for classifying workers as independent contractors. AWC opposes this bill, for reasons outlined here.
  • HB 1923 allows for certain members of PERS to be dual members of PSERS. It extends certain benefits, like earlier retirement, for employees of DSHS and city or county corrections departments who provide direct care or ensure the custody and safety of offenders and patients. Read more on this bill here.
