AWC Board adopts 2013 federal legislative priorities

On February 12, the AWC Board of Directors adopted revised federal priorities as recommended by AWC’s Federal Committee. The most significant change from last year was the addition of protecting the tax-exempt status of municipal bonds for infrastructure investments. The Board also retained four priorities:

  • Invest in infrastructure
  • Advance streamlined sales tax legislation
  • Maintain community development funding
  • Ensure safe communities

A huge thank you to AWC’s Federal Committee for their thoughtful consideration of federal issues impacting cities. We hope you will share these priorities with your members of Congress when you see them in D.C. or at home. We’ve posted a printable version of the updated federal priorities here.
