AWC and city officials travel to D.C. to promote federal priorities

This week AWC’s leadership joins more than 70 other Washington city officials in advocating for federal policies that support our cities as they participate in the National League of City’s Congressional City Conference in Washington, D.C.

On Monday, AWC’s Federal Committee will meet to coordinate activities and strategies. On Tuesday, AWC’s President Paul Roberts (Councilmember, Everett), Vice President Jim Restucci (Mayor, Sunnyside), Secretary Pat Johnson (Mayor, Buckley), CEO Peter King, and Government Relations Director Dave Williams will represent AWC in an event with Senators Murray and Cantwell and various meetings with Congressional staff (House members are on recess back in their districts). Then on Wednesday, President Roberts and CEO King have also been honored with an invitation to participate in briefings at the White House.

Look for updates and pictures from the conference on AWC’s Twitter and Facebook.
