Majority of Senate votes to restore PWTF cut, but amendment still fails

In a bit of a surprise, a majority of the Senate voted to restore the latest $10 million sweep of the Public Works Trust Fund that was proposed in the Senate budget. Unfortunately, due to a rule adopted that sets a 60 percent threshold to adopt amendments to the budget, the amendment from Senator Chase failed. The final vote count was 25 Yeas, 22 Nays and 2 excused. We want to thank Senator Chase for her leadership, as well as Senators Dansel, Takko, Mullet for their supportive comments on the floor.

Here is the list of how your Senators voted. Take a moment to thank those who voted yes, and perhaps ask those who voted no what it will take to get their support in the future.

Voting yea: Senators Billig, Carlyle, Chase, Cleveland, Conway, Dansel, Darneille, Fraser, Frockt, Hargrove, Hasegawa, Hobbs, Jayapal, Keiser, Liias, Litzow, McAuliffe, McCoy, Mullet, Nelson, Pedersen, Ranker, Rivers, Rolfes, and Takko

Voting nay: Senators Angel, Bailey, Baumgartner, Becker, Braun, Brown, Dammeier, Ericksen, Fain, Hewitt, Hill, Honeyford, King, Miloscia, O'Ban, Padden, Parlette, Pearson, Roach, Schoesler, Sheldon, and Warnick

Excused: Senators Benton and Habib
