House and Senate committees to hear proposal to restore local liquor revenue

Last week we told you about AWC’s priority bill to gradually increase local liquor revenue, HB 2348/SB 6425, and House and Senate committees have each scheduled to hear their respective versions. The House Commerce & Gaming Committee will hear the proposal on Tuesday, January 26 at 1:30 pm. The Senate Ways & Means Committee will hear the proposal on Wednesday, January 27 at 3:30 pm.

AWC and city officials will testify about the importance of this historic revenue shared between the state, counties and cities and the need to ensure the local government portion continues to grow along with the state’s. However, your legislators also need to hear from you. Please take a minute to contact your Senator and Representatives and express your support.

More specific details about the proposal can be found in AWC’s City Liquor Revenue Issue Brief.
