Proposal to examine state and local regulations that affect small businesses

On Thursday, January 21, the Senate Trade & Economic Development Committee approved a proposal to establish a task force to examine state and local regulations that affect small businesses. The task force would include legislators from both parties who would be required to seek input from a variety of stakeholders including businesses, labor organizations, state agencies, and the public. Before the committee approved the bill, it added local governments to the list of stakeholders. The bill now goes to the Senate Rules Committee where it must get approval before it can go to the full Senate for a vote.
