Airbnb now collecting sales and lodging taxes in Washington State

Washington State recently reached an agreement with Airbnb to collect sales and lodging taxes from Washington property owners advertising on its site. Airbnb began collecting these taxes on October 15, and cities will see their first distributions this month. According to Airbnb, this is part of a larger effort to help their property owners collect and remit hotel taxes, and they previously reached agreements with the cities of San Francisco and Portland.
