New retail marijuana licenses set for approval, rulemaking in the works

The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) began accepting new marijuana retail license applications in early October. These new licenses are the result of SB 5052, the Cannabis Patient Protection Act. SB 5052 consolidates the medical marijuana market into the recreational market, and establishes the LCB as its oversight body. The new licenses may mean more marijuana retailers in your community. To read more about SB 5052 see here.

LCB is seeking input on proposed rule changes to the marijuana license and application process, and requirements and reporting chapter (314-55 WAC). This new rulemaking is the result of legislation passed by the 2015 Legislature.

You can forward comments to LCB by mail, email or fax by November 15, 2015.
