Requiring hospitals to report bullet or stab wounds

Current law requires hospitals to report to law enforcement when treating wounds caused by gunshots or stabbing only if the patient is unconscious. SB 5305 would require hospitals to report this regardless of whether the patient is awake or not.

AWC supports this proposal in order to aid law enforcement in investigating criminal activity. The bill is scheduled for a hearing in the Senate Health Care Committee on February 7 at 10am.
